Abstract:
The establishment of the Kajjansi Clay's factory has impacted the environment and the community living around, these impacts can be solved by carrying out better ways of waste disposal, treatment of wastes before discharge in water bodies ,use of degradable products like papers rather than polythene bags which do not decay, avoiding to deposit wastes in water bodies ,use of better machines which do not produce a lot of noise and toxic to avoid air pollution through the emissions, these impacts can be due to use of faulty machines like old ones, ignorance about the environment concerns by the workers like not involving in Environmental Impact Assessment in the plan before establishing the factory failure to involve the society in their plans in terms of considering their social and economic welfare, its establishment has led to air pollutant emissions, toxic waste disposal, water contamination, climate change, loss of natural resources and extinction of species thus global threatening of the environment as well as economic and social welfare in Kamonkoli sub- county in Budaka district.
