Abstract:
Water is an essential need for the life and a key factor amongst the sustainable development
goals. Water has been a major issue on the international agenda for several decades as the most
essential resource for life. Not only internationally, in Uganda too, Busitema University is
affected by the intermittent water supply. This project’s goal is to solve the problem of water
intermittent supply at the University through the design and construction of a hybrid powered
water pumping system that will convey water from a dug well to the University water tank.
Solar, a renewable form of energy and hydropower were chosen to run this system due to the fact that it provides constant water supply at the university,
