Report for field attachment carried out in Mountain Elgon National park.

Abstract

This recess term report covers details and facts of activities carried out at Mt. Elgon National Park for a period of eight (8) weeks as analyzed below. Chapter one talks about the introduction of the recess trip, objectives of the recess trip, historical background of Mt. Elgon National Park, management of UWA and its organizational structure, departments and uniqueness of Mt. Elgon National Park, organizational hierarchy of MENP, accommodation in the park, seasons in MENP, climate and vegetation of MENP, a map showing the location of MENP, the human population, as well as the economic aspects in MENP. Chapter two covers the materials and methods used in the field to achieve my recess trip objectives. Chapter three presents a clear discussion and results of internship, in-depth description of the trip objectives, activities carried out during my recess term, presentation of well-detailed areas of improvement, and a detailed proposed work plan and how it can be achieved. Chapter four summarizes the skills learned and how they are relevant to my professional and career growth and the evaluation of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the organization as well as the level of accomplishment of the activities. Chapter five covers the recommendations, conclusions, and references.
