Abstract

The Tororo Online Business Directory provides the data to both business as well as the user who require the information of different business. The System is developed with the objective of making the system reliable, easier, fast, and more informative. By using this system, the user of this site got all the information regarding businesses in Tororo. Registering on Business Directory will help businesses to reach out to potential clients’ / Trade partners and other Markets. Business Directory would serve as the SINGLE WINDOW reference point to anyone requiring information regarding Tororo business sector. The system shall be developed by Style Sheets (CSS), Java Script, HTML, Hyperlinks, and Wamp Server for front end, Apache 7.0, MYSQLi. Briefly the system has three platforms. The is Admin, user and public platform. However, the system shall just describe about online business directory. In this Online business directory, the functions that were developed include, user registration, image uploads. For this research, the case study was done in Tororo District. Systems Testing, validation and verification was done by allowing users of the system (customers, business owners, and system administrator) to interact with it. Findings showed that most of the customers were unsatisfied with the current modes of obtaining business information of businesses in Tororo district and agree that an online /web based business directory will improve the current modes of obtaining business information. The result of the project is Tororo district online business directory. The researcher recommended the that the directory be implemented by hosting it on line so that the customers enjoy the convince of obtaining accurate and timely business information in Tororo district from the comfort of their current locations remotely through their internet enabled devices such as a computer, laptop, tablet or Smartphone.
