Abstract:
The study examined the impact of the national agricultural advisory services (NAADS) programmes to farmers, this was done by looking at the community’s involvement in national agricultural advisory services (NAADS) programs. The research involved cross sectional designs that included different respondents at different time over one topic of study. The researcher also used the qualitative research approach that involved the use of questionnaires and direct observation, analysis and presentation. A selected sample of 111respondents was used to provide information about the study and data analysis was done using excel. In addition to the above, the achievements of NAADS in Busitema sub-county included; provision of employment opportunities to the population, reduction of poverty in the poor farmers, Food security and nutrition in farmers at home, the failures of NAADS programmes included; Soil exhaustion due to monoculture, Food shortage and so on, the strategies of improving service delivery in Busitema included, NGOs involvement, Sensitization of farmers and use of laws. Most people in busitema sub county are benefiting from NAADS programs through employment, food, income, infrastructural development, skill acquisition and expansion of other businesses.
