dc.description.abstract This Tourism Development Master Plan recognizes Uganda’s exceptional range of natural and cultural tourism assets and prescribes strategies to unlock their potential which will enable deliver a significant boost to the tourism sector over the next ten years. By 2024, the Master Plan forecasts an increase in foreign receipts to over USD 1.4 billion per annum, and the creation of more than 150,000 additional tourism jobs. The projection is based on a careful analysis of both internal and external environments of the country. Realizing the potential of the tourism sector to contribute to national socioeconomic development, the Government of Uganda has recognized the importance of tourism and identified it as a priority sector in the National Development Plan (2010-15) and the Vision 2040.The Master Plan therefore serves as a ten-year guideline on how to enhance the development of not only the tourism sector, but also of the nation in general. en_US
