Industrial training is a practical program which is always carried out at the end of first year of study. It runs alongside class room academic program. Prophylaxis treatment of both dairy and other cattle, claw trimming of cocks, de- beaking, turning of litter in poultry house. Treating goats. During this IT I gained several skills and knowledge which Branding, disbudding, treatment of animals, handling of veterinary drugs, treatment of animals, disease diagnosis ear tagging of animals, tagging of fish, sampling of fish, mixing feed rations for different and animals feeds. I also encountered few challenges like shortage of tools to be used such as syringes, needles. professionally these attachment activities have given me confidence in the field of professionalism, it has also helped me to relate class work with practical fully. This IT program has also added me socialism spirit since I met other students from different universities and we share knowledge with them

This industrial training report contains detailed activities that I carried out at KSF during my IT at NAGRC & DB-Kasolwe Stock Farm which was on for a period of eight (8) weeks from 19th/06/2023 to 12th/08/2023. It was on from Monday to Saturday from 7:00AM-6:00PM. On day 1, I reported to the farm where I was welcomed by Mr. OTIM EMMANUEL who was one of the staff and oriented me together with other students about KSF. IT was meant to enable students get hands on skills in Animal Production and Management with the intention of transferring theoretical knowledge into practical skills within the stipulated time. KSF has seven sections i.e, cattle, poultry, aquaculture, piggery, pasture, goats and feed mill. It revealed that, the theory taught in lecture rooms does not differ from what is practically done in the field.
Activities that I carried out during my IT were; cleaning the goat unit, deworming all dairy cattle, ear tagging calves, AI, pregnancy diagnosis, feed processing, cleaning poultry house, desilting the fish pond, hay making etc. Skills that I gained during my IT were; I learnt how to deworm goats and cattle, Challenges that I faced were, language barrier and walking long distance from my area of residence to the farm. Responsibilities undertaken include; treating cattle, deworming goats and dairy cattle, measuring live body weight of cattle etc. The impacts of IT to my future career plans are; I have the capacity to handle most areas with profession due to the skills I have gained. In conclusion, the IT at KSF was successful despite the fact that it had a few challenges.
The recommendations are; I recommend that KSF should purchase a standby high-capacity generator due to load shedding at the feed mill, the government should complete the construction of learning Centre.

I have personally compiled this report that details all the activities carried during my Industrial Training, Skilling and Mentorship at National Union of Coffee Agribusiness and Farm Enterprises (NUCAFE) for both theoretical and practical work carried out on the firm.
Chapter one introduces National Union of Coffee Agribusiness and Farm Enterprises (NUCAFE) in a broad sense clearly giving its mission, vision, objectives and organizational structure.
Chapter Two looks at the activities involved during the training at National Union of Coffee Agribusiness and Farm Enterprises (NUCAFE). It started with Orientation on the first day by the Human Resource Manager and the officials at the firm site. The training was mainly carried out to equip the internees with knowledge and skills on the entire coffee value chain. Understanding all the activities carried out right from the farm through post harvesting processes, processing, up to coffee in a cup. Some of these include identifying the two main types of coffee grown in Uganda, their physical differences and characteristics, coffee defects and their effects on coffee tastes and flavors in the cup, cupping, and sorting, grading, physical analysis of coffee in the laboratory. All the aspects I learned from these activities included theory and practical work and individual involvement and assessment.
Chapter Three basically entails my expectations before the training versing what I got on ground, my personal experiences, new practical skills and lessons learned. It also contains the challenges during the course of my training which included among others; having to move long distance to and fro training place, unfriendly weather sometimes like heavy rains and extreme sun heat on some days.
Chapter four is summarized with key conclusions from the industrial training experience, general observations about which the sector of NUCAFE operates from and Suggestions/recommendations following logically from the conclusions
