Abstract:
I conducted my internship program at Adjumani town council which is a government entity in Adjumani District, Adjumani town council from 28th Feb to 3rd May 2022
I was attached to Adjumam Town Council under production and marketing which handles crop and animal husbandry.
During the course of the industrial training, we implemented activities like vaccination, treatment, outreach, meat inspection, the establishment of tree nurseries, and management and sensitization of farmers.
These activities have made me gam a lot of skills and experience in vaccination, conducting outreaches, meat inspection, nursery management, and confidence in sensitizing farmers and treating animals and this has enabled me to focus on my goals in the future
Much as all were successfully done, there were also challenges which hindered the smooth running of the industrial training and this included, poor transport networks and means, climate changes like heavy rainfall and with all these challenges, I recommend that the government should employ more veterinary officers to solve the problem of few doctors to treat and vaccinate the animals in case of any outbreak of diseases like Foot and mouth disease. The government should also work on the roads to solve the problem of poor transport and the council should also plan for a modernized abattoir for the conduction of t inspection and to avoid the easy spread of disease.
