Industrial. training is a course module at Busitema university Arapai campus for students offering APM, BSA, AGB, DAP, DCP, and CGA courses. It is conducted at the end of the first academic year students conduct at agricultural training, research institutions, and farm estates and it enables students’ theory to be put into practical's on hand experience.
The major activities that were carried out are;
Feeding of the calve, dipping of animals, feeding of dairy animals establishment of pastures, nursery bed establishment, fish pond management, conducting outreach, clewniot the milking pollar castration of young male calves dehorning, debuding, horticulture management, milking, cleaning of calve pens, bucket feeding of calves, fodder harvesting and feeding of animals, pet management, field making, orchard management, pasture identification, de-worming of dairy cows, animal identification and ear tagging, treating animals with mastitis cases, disease diagnosis, pregnancy diagnosis, hoof trimming, treating of chronic sick animals, drug and chemical identification and nomenclature, organic farming, parasite control, plant tea preparation.
As showed the activities above the field supervisors had a broad understanding of the above activities which they willingly passed on to us in detail and this made to archive my objectives as per the time given for the internship period. |
