A report on industrial training carried out at Busitema university Arapai campus Soroti city from 28th Feb to 06th May 2022.

Abstract

Busitema University Arapai Campus Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Sciences; "Pursuing Excellence" is located in Soroti City along Moroto highway. The main aim of the training was to equip students with the knowledge on practical skills required in agricultural activities. The following are activities I did during my industrial training in BUAC; weeding banana plantation, spraying cattle, goats, dehorning, cleaning calf pens, goats’ unit, feeding dairy cattle cutting Napier and Rhodes grass, weeding, rogging, grafting mangoes budding, trellising tomatoes in the greenhouse, steaming the substrate, packing into the gardens, inoculating the gardens, watering mushroom gardens, planting maize long 05, weeding maize and any others. However, I faced few challenges like limited specimens like cattle, goats for castration, dehorning. I therefore conclude that my l. T was very enjoyable and successful and I recommend the administration of BUAC to purchase more specimens to facilitate practicals.
