Ebenezar farm is located in Manyonyi lower village, Bumagene parish, Bungonkho sub-county, Mbale district. It is located along Tororo road 7km from Mbale city center.

Abstract

This report contains and describes the various activities done, skills and qualifications acquired, challenges faced during the industrial training, conclusions of the report and recommendations derived from the challenges faced at Ebenezar dairy farm. The objective. of this industrial training is to make students benefit from skills and knowledge acquired from fields, apply the knowledge they got in classroom in the field and build self-confidence for a. student: During the industrial training, I was attached to both animal and. crop sections where I carried out activities like, milking, castration, dehorning, spraying. animals, litter changing, pruning of bananas and coffee; greenhouse management, (planting of vegetable crops like eggplants, cabbage, and tomatoes) etc. These activities have made me gain a number of skills and confidence, Skills like; castration, training farmers on crop and animal management, deworming pigs, dehorning cattle, communication skills, animal treatment etc. While in the internship still, I also faced some challenges like; too much work, health problems (sickness) language barrier and inadequate working tools- at the farm. In conclusion, all the activities were implemented and industrial training was carried out successfully. I was able to gain a lot from it as I was in a position to acquire practical skills and knowledge in line with my career and relating with farmers. Much as all were successfully done, there were some few challenges which hindered the smooth mining of The activities making me recommend that the farm manager should lobe for the renovation of the farm structures this will improve on the health of the- animals, the farm should purchase working tools like hand hoes, pangas, pruning saws, animal treatment kit in order to ease farm management practices.
