Abstract:
This report contains the various activities accomplished during my industrial training at TEFCU for a period of 8 weeks which were segmented amidst various farmers in Arapai primary cooperative such as Mr. EKIPI FAUSTNO, OKELLO, ENYIDU etc., which is under the main cooperative TEFCU
Chapter one describes the background of TEFCU which is dated way back 2008 comprising of 8 districts of the Teso sub region with a mission of having a sustainable productivity of the community and improve on livelihoods currently having about 6000 farmers being governed by the executive which is elected by the general assembly
Chapter two reflects on the activities carried out during the internship period which include the following: budding of the citrus plants, spraying using a motorized sprayer to control pest and diseases of citrus such as gummosis, leaf miner etc., analyzing the citrus value chain for the farmers, fertilizer application which included making of compost manure, marketing of the citrus fruits especially to Soroti Fruits Factory, follow up with the farmers under Arapai primary cooperative
Chapter three displays of the impact of the attached to the internee which best describes the milestones reached and all the successes and challenges faced during the industrial training. Chapter four comprises of the conclusion where a recap of the entire program of internship can be judged and possible recommendations that should be put taken into consideration.
