Abstract:
Busitema University Arapai Cannpus (BUAC) is a public University located in Eastern Uganda 8km from Soroti-Moroto road. The Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Science of the University designed this attachment with the aim of building capacity of the second-year students pursuing certificate in general agriculture in practical skills related in the areas of specialization in various fields of agriculture in comparison with knowledge: acquired from class room as well as serving a partial requirement to the award of certificate in general agriculture.
This industrial training report is a description and a compilation of the activities that were carried out during the industrial training from 20th May -26th July 2019 carried Out with Community Empowerment for Rural Development (CEFORD) rhino camp refugee settlement area.
Relevant activities were carried out during the training and these included monitoring and evaluating, data collection, cross cutting issues that affect farmers in the refugee settlement in agriculture as a business by developing business plans for farms, establishing of sesbania, planting of vegetables -like egg plants, onions, okra, cow peace and weekly planning meeting.
Conclusively, the industrial training commenced and ended successfully and recommended the following of the livelihood department sensitization of farmers. about climate change, encouraging farmers to carry out agriculture as a business among others.
