A report on internship activities carried out at Soroti city local government, production department crop sector and animal from 28th Feb to 28th April 2022.

Abstract

This report contains and describes the activities implemented skills and more knowledge gained, challenges faced during the industrial training, conclusion of the report and recommendations derived from the challenges faced at Soroti City Soroti Uganda. The objective of this industrial training is to make students benefit from the skills and knowledge gained from the fields, apply the knowledge they get from the classroom in the field and build confidence in the students.

During internship I was attached to the department of production at the city at the Eastern division under supervision of DR ISIAH ODOKORACH. This was followed by orientation where internees were introduced to the office and later drew the program of internship activities such as; office work, meat inspection, field visit and teaching farmers, these activities have made me to gain skills and knowledge like.

Meat inspection, how to tech farmers, how to present information and self-Infront of public, disease got from meat, office work handles animal transportation permits, Control of spread of disease to public from infected meat, how to condemn meat unfit for human consumption, incineration of condemned carcass, waste management, antemortem inspection of animals, Post mortem inspection of carcass time management, daily inspection report reporting, etc.

Despite all I also faced some challenges like. difficulty in meeting mobilizing workers, time issues. In conclusion all went on well despite some challenges met along the way but still struggles where put forward to see all is accomplished well to my level best.
