Industrial training is a module designed to enable students acquire practical skills of what was taught theoretically at the university as far as agriculture is concerned. It was done in eight week concluded by supervision by the supervisor from the university. The report has three chapters that show all that was done during the industrial training. Chapter one summarizes the introduction, back ground, geographical location, objectives objective of the field attachment, beneficiaries of the farm, products offered & the future prospect of Kakiri Sub County. Chapter two presents the description of the attachments such as farm visits, high value vegetable crops, report making, banana close spacing among others. Chapter three reports on the impacts of the attachment such as acquiring skills on high value vegetable crops, communication skills report writing skills etc, the challenges were high financial costs and being involved in an accident, responsibilities and influence of the I.T to my future career. I recommend the stuff of BUAC specifically the Department of Agribusiness and Extension to add on the time allocated on the industrial training activity so that the students get more time to learn practical skills since they are very vital as far as our future career is concerned. Conclusively the industrial training was very influential to me since I leant new skills and technologies for example farm visits, banana close spacing technology, high value vegetables, communication skills, report making among others. However, there were a few challenges like little time for the industrial training, financial challenges among others. |
