Mbale farm located in Mbale cell, Namakwekwe ward northern division, Mbale municipality in Mbale district.

Abstract

The industrial training this was conducted at SPCMF where the training lasted for 8 weeks from 28th February to April 2022 aiming at transforming the theoretical and skills into practical. While at SPCMF there were various activities carried according to the course attachments whereby I was attached to the animal and crop department and activities included; dehorning, castration, green house management, deworming, coffee management, pasture management, Banana establishment, poultry management and general sanitation which I was a daily routine activity that I totally participated in under the supervision or field supervisor.

Generally, this report consists of chapters as staled below; Chapter one contains of a brief introduction background, the vision, the location of the farm, services offered from organizational Structure, the mission and objectives of industrial training that includes enabling of students to acquire good working habits.

Chapter two consists of attachment description and the activities I carried out at SPCMF during the training were dehorning, castration, parasite Control, Banana establishment, pasture management, poultry management and green house management among others.

Chapter three describes more of the impact attachment with the skills and qualifications gained and these are knowing how identify and administer drugs, the responsibilities undertaken were cleaning of the animal handling structures and milking equipment’s, attachment influence to my future career which I strongly believe that it has been a positive influence, the activity core relationship to classroom knowledge various challenges faced during the training one which is long distance from the place of residence to the farm.

Chapter four consists of conclusions and with these I am able to conclude that the animal attachment is best offer I could ever opt for and l recommend the management of the PTCMEDF to build some rentals for accommodation of students, among others for better production and to the university to always ensure early supervision of students in order to create enough time for interaction between the students and the supervisor.
