Abstract:
Industrial training is a course module at Busitema university Arapai campus for students offering APM, BSA, AGB, DAP, DCP, and CGA courses. It is conducted at the end of first academic year students conduct it at agricultural training, research institutions and farm estates and it enables students to put theory practical.
The major activities that were carried out are;
Cleaning of milking polar dipping of animals, feeding of dairy animals establishment of pastures, nursery bed establishment, fish pond management, conducting outreach, feeding of calves, castration of young male calves, dehorning debuding, horticulture management, milking, cleaning of calve pens, bucket feeding of calves, fodder harvesting and feeding of animals, pet management, field making, orchard management, pasture identification, deworming of dairy cows, animal identification and ear tagging, treating animals with mastitis cases, disease diagnosis, pregnancy diagnosis, hoof trimming, treating of chronic sick animals, drug and chemical identification and nomenclature, organic farming, parasite control, plant tea preparation.
As showed the activities above the field supervisor had a broad understanding of the above activities which they willingly passed on to us in detail and this made to archive my objectives us per the time given for the internship period.
