dc.description Industrial training report en_US
dc.description.abstract Budaka local government is located in the eastern part of Uganda along the Mbale — Tirinyi road in budaka distnct, it has been in existence under the control of the government of Uganda, and the district headquarters located a few meters off the Mbale — Tirinyi road in budaka sub-county and the address was P.O BOX I, Budaka-Uganda, email: info.budaka@gmail.com. The beneficiaries of BLG included the following: PWD, HIV/AIDS, youths, farmers, elderly, business oriented among others and had sectors included: health, agriculture, education, production, procurement, etc, and while at BLG during the IT period, I was allocated to the production sector under the field supervisor Mr. Lwiisi Kafere who was as well the agriculture officer of Budaka sub-county Under the production sector, we managed to meet a number of activities which included: extension, poultry production, piggery production, pest, and disease management, planting maize setting maize demonstrations, providing advisory services, extension on CSA practices, soil management, rice processing, etc, The IT attempted to provide a number of skills that put the theoretical classroom knowledge into practical e.g. skills in soil management, pest control, weed control, production, extension among others which with no doubt fit in my IT objectives which included gaining adequate skills to start and manage my own projects, skills in CSA, etc. Thus the IT activities had a positive correlation with classroom knowledge in areas like soil management, extension, ethics and physiology, poultry production, etc. though the methodology slightly differed, however, there were some few challenges I encountered like walking long distances, hot sun, the rigidity of farmers among others but generally, the IT was a success and impacted a lot to my future career plans, skills and responsibilities undertaken and I would like to recommend the fraternity of BLG to improve areas in concern as highlighted in chapter four below and also to BUAC to allow their students conduct industrial trainings at BLG. This r port has been written as a result of my efforts in the IT I conducted at BLG thus for references LG is my reference. en_US
