dc.description Industrial training report en_US
dc.description.abstract Industrial training report as required and stated in the placement with one of the aims of giving me a student chance to put the lecture. room. knowledge into practice Basing on this requirement, I would like to report on what my training was, I was impacted some of the observations and challenges and recommendations while at Lutheran world Federation Luuka sub program from 9th march, 2022 to 4th may, 2022. The LWF Luuka sub program is about Food Security Initiative, to cover all the sub county. The operation and implantation of the project objectives is centered on the major aim of ensuring households have enough food and their incomes are improved through doing agribusiness. Through organizing household members into groups at various villages into FFS to empower them with better agronomic practices, give the inputs both farm inputs and livestock to train and also raise them for income generation, the groups are monitored by CBFs who work on behalf of the project officer. The various groups at village/ parish level organize to form a network at the sub county level for which network registers with the concerned authorities to be recognized and certified as a cooperative. In my training, I had chance to interact with all the levels i.e. FFS, network and cooperative. here most of the activities carried out were corresponding to the lecture room knowledge as summarized in the body after the field visits to the various sub counties where the groups are, I interacted with the farmers and the households of interest this was aimed at better learning and exposure to the field, I did so through the guidance of CBFs, agricultural office Bulongo sub county and the staff of LWF. I was given chance to attend workshops which were to educative and added on my knowledge. Though was impacted positively observed and faced also some hindrances which limited my further learning some were inadequate time, un always available, transport means to the field, long distances to the field My recommendations are straight to the management of the project mostly on rectifying the challenges faced by the interns and the farmers / households and request to the forwarded to the concerned offices for better follow up by those officers in my absence. Some of the photos of the field visits are attached below. as additional evidence for the activities done. en_US
