Abstract:
The IT was carried out at AMELIA AGRO AFRICA LTD in Naminya sub-county, Buikwe district for eight weeks that's from 28th FEBRUARY 22nd APRIL 2022 mainly on crop and animal production.
Objectives of the IT was to enable students to acquire skills in relation to the theory learnt in class about management of crops, animals and other agribusiness activities, to enable students interact with people of different categories like managers, supervisors, farmers and other workers.
The IT activities were; making poultry production records, fermenting of feeds for animals and birds, cleaning around the different units of livestock and black soldier fly inclusive, sourcing, and providing feeds to animals and birds, harvesting and value addition on the fruits, vegetables, seedbed preparation, deworming of birds, cleaning of feeding troughs and drinkers, transplanting, preparation of planting trays, management of BSF, LAYING OF COMPOST MATERIALS, Temperature measurement in compost and many others.
While at the farm challenges were encountered some of them are difficult in communication with some farm workers which made explanation in other projects less understood, insufficient income to facilitate the students stay, weather changes.
