Abstract:
This report gives an account of my stay at Lusenke Stock Farm (LSF) found in kayunga district for a period of 10 weeks working in several enterprises like the piggery section, poultry section and the cattle section. This was under the supervision of Dr. Mugowa Jeremiah.
The internship exercise lasted for 10 weeks i.e., from 28th/02/2022 to 8th/05/2022.
The purpose of the internship includes enabling the student transform theory into the practical, gets hands on experience, equipping the student with the relevant skills, competence and efficiency in execution of specific tasks, enrolling the student to the environment so as to develop student understanding of work, ethics, demands, responsibilities and opportunities.
During this exercise, the approaches, methods and techniques used included one on one basis with the farm workers in the different enterprises, face to face interviews with the senior farm workers, observations and literature study all enabling me to get the first-hand information, team work so as to develop interpersonal skills.
It also covers the various responsibilities that we were assigned at the farm depending on a particular enterprise, challenges and the benefits.
