Abstract:
This industrial training was carried out starting from the 3rd march to the 3rd May 2022 at kitgum district local government, Labongo Amida/Labongo Amida west sub county.
Its main aim was to fulfil the requirement for the award of a bachelor of agribusiness. It's done by students so as to give them opportunity to exercise the knowledge got from class in the field enabling them acquire skills.
I participated in several activities during the course of the industrial training which included the following; Training farmers groups on vegetable production that is tomatoes and cabbage in particular under the project NUFLIP phase two which started introduction to background of the project to them, market-oriented farming and its key considerations, how to carryout market research and its importance, family goal setting, nursery establishment and management. how to manage pest and diseases of vegetables (spraying tomatoes and cabbage), how io carryout Transplanting.
I also been participating in spraying, weeding, nursery bed establishment and management at Akworo small scale irrigation site, vaccinating cattle against black quarter diseases and chicken against Newcastle disease, treating chicken against coryza ,cattle and goats '"it watery diarrhea, distribution of cashew nuts seedlings, cassava cuttings to farmers und OWC , attending and participating in workshop for all extension workers Kitgum district on climate smart agriculture GPC meeting at Labongo Amida sub county, STPC meeting at the sub County where i was delegated as the Officer Labungo sub many others.
However, the biggest challenge was transport, and poor road network worsen with heavy rain, there was also inconsistent turn up by farmers for the training I thereby conclude that the Training went and ended successfully.
