dc.description.abstract This report contains and describes the activities implemented, skills and qualifications gained, and challenges faced during the industrial training conclusion of the report and recommendations derived from the challenges faced at Kwapa Town Council in Tororo District Local Government. From 28th February 2022 to 22nd April 2022, I was at Tororo District Local Government in Eastern part of Uganda for my internship under attachment to the Production Department. The internship ran, for 8 weeks consisting of valid tasks and assignments, the major tasks included animal production and management, report writing, and through the different meetings I attended and the. role- and the responsibilities in -relation to Animal Production development in Tororo. I was placed at the District Veterinary Officer's office whereby I was attached to Mr. AYEET CHARLES MICHAEL (Assistant Animal Husbandry Officer) as my Field supervisor. The University Supervisor from the Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Science visited the District Veterinary Office to assess the progress of my fieldwork attachment and also guide me through my undertaking. I was inducted and given orientation on my first day at Kwapa Town Council followed by development of work plan that was to guide us in administering our activities within our jurisdiction. The industrial training undertaken was in various areas of livestock production which included but not limited to the following; vaccination of both poultry and pets, regulation of animal movement which involved inspection of livestock for notifiable diseases and issuing of movement permits, routine farm visits. Farmers often reported disease cases on their farms. I was involved throughout The 8 'weeks to respond and treat animals against varied meat inspection and public health, Animal disease treatment, office work at the office of Assistant Animal Husbandry Officer, Community outreach at various, parishes to sensitize farmers on PDM, knowledge of veterinary drugs and their use at Wanga Drug shop, pasture establishment to mitigate the effect of climatic change, and trypanosomiasis surveillance at Kwapa Town Council. Internship Gains and Challenges: I acquired knowledge on how to handle, deal with, produce and manage animals in terms of disease control and prevention. Despite the achievement, I was faced with a few challenges which included: financial shortage, limited time and harsh weather Conclusion and recommendations; I carried out the internship successfully and though the period was short, I have learnt to work under minimum. supervision. Finally, I conclude by forwarding the recommendations highlighted in the report to the organization and the University for further Action. en_US
