The approach seems more since the and live within the communities, The training revealed that some of the theory taught, in class slightly differs from what is practically done in the field, e.g., very welfare practices are applied in the field. The obvious ones that are observed include, providing shelter, food, treating animals allowing animals rest as well among others but when it comes to moving animals in- races, welfare is not followed at all because animals are beaten badly.
However, there were also some challenges encountered which include, harsh weather, insecurity in the region, illiteracy of most CAHWs, poor animal structures in some communities such as cattle crushes, rampant raids in the region and poor rood and communication networks. Some of the recommendations for the organization are introducing FAL classes for CAHWs to learn some basics in reading, writing and numeracy, construction of cattle crushes in areas without and increasing the number of cattle crushes in areas with high livestock numbers, refresher training to be conducted, if possible, on yearly basis go that their knowledge retention gap is minimized.
