Industrial training report carried out at Bulange sub county in Namutumba district for the period of eight (8) weeks.

Abstract

This report contains the activities undertaken, skills and qualifications gained, challenges faced during the industrial training, conclusion of the report and recommendations derived from the challenges faced with in Bulange Sub County, Namutumba distict local government. The objective of this industrial training is to make students get exposed to field activities; apply the knowledge acquired from the classroom practically. I was attached to the department of animal production. This was followed by orientation whereby l. was first introduced to the sub county chief and got engaged in activities such as; castration, dehorning: treatment; debeaking, drug identification, vaccination and others. These activities made me gain a lot of skills and knowledge like; deworming of animals, skills in Castration, skills in handling different diseases of animals_ I also faced some challenges like: walking long distance, poor roads and lack of transport means, Poor mobilization of the farmers, Lack of veterinary drugs and equipment at the sub county, Poor turn up of farmers for the trainings. In conclusion, all the activities were done and the training was carried out successfully. The technical advice that I shared addressed some of the farmers' problems and fears. Due to some challenges faced, I recommend that Government increases the number of motor cycles to all the sub-counties to solve. transport problems during such activities? Some facilitation in form of lunch and transport allowances should be at least to students during their such exercises to motivate them during their training.
