Industrial training at Evervictory Limited- Kampala.

Abstract

Industrial training refers to the practical training clone in a company farm or an industrial environment that helps the students in developing the required skills which will help them in becoming a professional of the future. Evervictory is private limited company that was registered on 25th -Jan- 2007 and has been operating since then, its fully licensed by the Uganda National Drug Authority (NDA) to carryout business nationwide in the area of marketing and distribution of veterinary drugs and vaccines. This describes the activities done or implemented, skills and knowledge gained, challenges faced during, industrial training, conclusions of the report and recommendations derived from the challenges faced at Evervictory limited in container village within Kampala city during my time of industrial training. The activities are divided into two: farm visit and pharmacy activities. Activities at the farm include; vaccination of bird and animals, lent of birds and animals, turning litter in poultry house, Debeaking poultry, preparing a brooder house, diagnosis of animal diseases, castration of piglets and activities at the pharmacy prescription of drugs, extension services to clients at the counter, stock taking, paeking drug/vaccines bought by clients, monitoring/ regulating refrigerator temperatures (between +2 and +8), participation in the "Harvest Money Expo” of which I gained skills and expel in all the above activities. Some of the challenges faced included; long distance to reach the farms, harsh climatic conditions especially heavy rain falls which would delay the act I conclude by' saying, that the internship was carried out successfully and I was able to gain a lot from it. I was in position of getting practical skills and knowledge in line with my career and relating with people in the field. The technical advice that I provided addressed farmers problems and needs. 1recommend that in order for internship to run smoothly, the university should establish good relationship with the commonest private companies operating in this field to which its students get attached, one of which is Evervictory ltd.
