Abstract:
RSF was established by government under the MAAIF and sub branch of NAGRIC/DB for livestock production in the field of dairy cow rearing goat (Boer) both cross-and pure breed.
As programmed by the University the internship commenced on 28th Feb and ended on 4th may
2022, during this period numerous activities were conducted which impact me with skills experience such as animal health management, disease diagnosis and treatment, milking, pasture and range management.
The common breed of cattle found in RSF are Friesians cows, jersey, Guernsey. Others include Boer goats. both pure and crossed
During the time of internship, the common cases we handled were ECF, bovine keratoconjunctivitis, babesiosis. anaplasmosis, retained placenta among others.
I recommend that more training should be made 10 all farmers so as to improve the management and productivity of the animals and also the government should increase on the capital support to the animal Sector to well manage the animals and workers in the farm.
