Districts of Masindi, Hoima, Kikuube, Kiryandongo, Kibaale, Kagadi, Buliisa and Kakumiro The main objective of the field attachment was to obtain practical skills, knowledge, and experience in the diverse fields of Agriculture that help to broaden the knowledge of the student in applying the theoretical knowledge studied in class to the real-life experience. I attended various sections while at BUZARDI in animal production such as poultry, piggery, goats, pastures, apiculture, aquaculture among others and I obtained different skills during the field attachment such as animal production which involves identification of diseases, treatment of diseases and the best ways on how to maximize animal production. The practical aspect I learnt during the industrial training includes grafting, deworming, animal treatment; and other management practices such as dehorning, castration, ear tagging.
I also carried fish breeding and sexing which helped learn how to practically distinguish between male and female fish through observing their papilla. I also carried out sexing of the day old chicks in the hatchery unit.
Although the period was successfully, however, there were some challenges encountered during this period of my industrial training such as bad weather, inadequate equipment's for use in the field. I would therefore, to recommend to the institute to purchase enough equipment such as face masks and gloves for use in spraying, and more automatic syringes to quicken the injection of animals. In conclusion, the internship period was generally.
