An industrial training report carried out at light force international Uganda farm (LFI), Lira branch from 28th Feb to 6th May 2022.

Abstract

This report contains and describes the activities implemented, skills and qualifications gained, challenges faced during the industrial training, conclusion of the report and recommendations derived from the challenges faced at LFI farm located at Telela, Omito parish, Lira city west division. The objective of this industrial training is to make students benefit from the skills and knowledge gained from the fields, apply the knowledge they get from the classroom in the field and build confidence in the students. During internship was attached to the department of animal production and crop production. I carried out a numbers of activities in the different sections within the farm i.e. poultry unit, garden orchard and horticulture, cattle and goats’ units and finally piggery unit. Among the different activities they included; animal management practices, animal treatment, vaccination of chickens. These activities has made me to gain lot of skills and knowledge like; Deworming of goats and cattle, skills in Castration, skills in general management of animals, communication skills and confidence in training farmers on animal and crop management. During internship, I also face some challenges like; machine operations, lack of veterinary drugs and equipment at the farm, difficulties in implementing the possible solution to certain problem we encountered at the farm, lack of enough tools and equipment. In conclusion all the activities were implemented and industrial training was carried out successfully. I was able to gain a lot from it.
