An industrial training report carried out at Maikut farm located in Kaplak cell, Kaplak ward east division Kapchorwa municipality.

Abstract

The internship training was conducted at Maikut Farm in Kapchorwa district for a period of eight weeks from 28th/Feb/ 2022 to 24th/April/2022. The main purpose of this training was to equip us with practical skills in Animal production and management. Different animal husbandry practices were done during the period of internship and these included castration, dehorning, animal treatment, disease diagnosis, fodder conservation, meat inspection, feeding of farm animals, record keeping, sheep docking, deworming, spraying, pasture establishment, heifer management and outreaches to farmers. Challenges I faced during the internship period included harsh environment i.e. cold weather. However, the Industrial training was successfully carried out. I recommend that farm should buy more cleaning equipment and other equipment such as syringes and needles.
