A report on industrial training carried out in Soroti district veterinary office, from 28th Feb to 6th May 2022.

Abstract

The report in summary provides an outlook of work that took place during internship in Soroti district local government Soroti city. Chapter one is an introduction of the report which include the following: what IT is, preparatory arrangement, justification of the IT, objectives of the IT, methods used/location of Soroti district veterinary office, historical background of SDLG, soil, Vegetation and climate of Soot district, economic context of Soroti district; settlement pattern in Soroti district, Ethnicity, administration, organizational structure and objectives of the veterinary sector. Chapter two covers activities that were implemented during the internship period; were on livestock production, piggery production, disease investigation, vaccination of pets against rabies, prophylactic treatment of animals, training of farmers on livestock production and management, identification of animals (ear tagging), feeding of animals (pigs) FMD vaccination, castration of pigs and bulls, record keeping and documentation, climate change, adaptation, promotion of sharing and learning. Chapter three expresses the impact of the attachment which include knowledge, skills and attitude gained at Industrial training, responsibility under taken during IT, influence of internship on my future career plans and correlation of the IT activities Chapter four narrates the conclusion and recommendation.
