dc.description.abstract Industrial training is the practical module under taken by students during their recess term and this basically to the students acquire more practical knowledge and skills from the field of their studies. Training was conducted at Kwapa Town Council located 7km North of Tororo Town in Tororo district. The training was carried out for a period of two months from 28/2/2022 to 22/ 4/2022 in various activities that included farm activities and community meeting. Kwapa Town Council started in 2020 after breaking away from Kwapa Sub- County. Its headquarters remained in the old Kwapa Sub- County. Its goals to empower families, community citizens and to embrace national values and actively participate in sustainable development, improve on the social infrastructure, increase on level of agricultural production and promote household food security and increase on the agricultural productivity by improved service delivery. During the training, many activities were connected across the programs which include the following: horticulture, making organic manure and pesticides, community meeting, farm visits, establishment of demos, re-allocating poorly spaced mangoes, vaccination in poultry etc. I gained practical skills on nursery bed management, making organic pesticides, fertilizer application and uses, vaccination in poultry, pest and disease control. However, there were few challenges I faced which include harsh climatic weather conditions like heavy rain, sunshine, shortage of enough laborers. Although I faced the above challenges, I successfully completed my industrial training and numerous skills were gained. I recommend the farmers to increase on the labor force, the local government should consider improving the sub county as a matter of priority. I recommend the farmers to have a positive mind of farming as a business. en_US
