This report contains and describes the activities implemented. skills and qualifications. gained, challenges faced during the industrial training, conclusion of the report and recommendations derived, from the challenges faced at Buac. The objective of this industrial training is to make students benefit from the skills and knowledge gained from the fields, apply the knowledge they get from the classroom in the field and build confidence in the students. During internship was attached to the department of animal production. This was followed by orientation where I was first introduced to the farm and later, I implemented the activities such as; management of banana plantation establishment of new orchard for mangoes, animal management practices. planting and Managements of crops like water melones, green house management and planting of cumber, attending training organized by Avis foundation on. agribusiness, These activities. has made me (o gain a lot of skills and knowledge like; feeding, cattle, feed formulation for pigs, drugs identification, dosage and their use on animals. Skills in Castration, skills in general management of animals, communication skills and confidence in training farmers on animals and crop management. During internship, I also face some challenges like; delays from the field supervisor to attend to us the intern students due to students who were also carrying out their daily farm practice activities allocations of students for activities was great challenge which took some good days because the lists of intern students were not displayed. Prolonged drought which affected our planting of crops. In conclusion all the activities were implemented and industrial training was carried out successfully. I was able to gain a lot from it. I was in position of getting practical skills and knowledge in line with my career and relating with people in the field. The technical advice that provided addressed farmer problems and needs. Much as all Were successfully done, there were also some little which hindered he smooth running of the activities making me recommend that the lists of intern students should be displayed in time to allow Field supervisors organize themselves in time to solve problems like delayed allocations of students during their internship training. The faculty should increase more number of animals to allow at least every student to touchs on which improve their skills lather than seeing from friends during the activities to avoid the problems of inadequate knowledge and skills in practical activities while in the field. |
