Abstract:
The industrial training placement has always been assigned to students by the university in order to put classroom knowledge into practice to understand and be exposed to practical experience through research, extension work with an organization. The industrial training was carried out at ecological Christian organization in Nabilatuk district for a period of two months and during the industrial training my colleagues and I performed many activities that include; we attended a training on anti-human and child trafficking, online general staff meetings to share weekly updates, VSLA approach, land preparation, planting, weeding, staking, Proping, Deleafing, mulching, watering, fertilizer application and collection, shading the nursery beds, establishment of both tree and vegetable nurseries, de- shooting, soil sterilization, potting, Deworming, spraying animals against ticks, animal diagnosis and treatment and other management practices. During my industrial training, I gained vast knowledge and skills that include; VSLA approach like how they formulate the rule and regulations of group, the Interest rate sand how they share their savings, how to share weekly activity updates, how to control ecto-parasites good commumcation skills and report writing skills etc. Although the industrial training was successful, I faced a few challenges however I do recommend the following to ECO; construction of the green house, supporting active farmers who are willing to save, organizing field tours for interns.
