Abstract:
An industrial training report carried out by APEET GODLIVER a student pursuing a diploma in crop production and management at BUAC from28th Feb to 6th May 2022.
Its main objective was to apply class room theory knowledge in the classroom to practicals and gain more knowledge and skills that helps a student in the future career.
I carried out my industrial training at SOCADIDO which is a Christian based organization established in 1981 overseen by well constituted board of governance, secretariat and community-based structures across Teso sub region. SOCADIDOs vision is to realize a prosperous, self-reliant and peaceful Teso community with a mission to contribute to improving sustainable socioeconomic wellbeing of vulnerable groups. i implements its programs through an integrated and collaborative approach using community-based structures e.g., VSLA I intervenes in a wide range of socio and economic development like BINS, AGRID,DRR and climate change.
while at SOCADIDO we had our first meeting with e HRM who oriented us, introduced rules and regulations governing the organization and activities, projects run by the organization.
Our second meeting the HRM introduced and assigned some of the staff to guide and work with us through the whole process of IT. during my IT I carried out the following activities; managing the banana plants, establishing and maintaining nursery beds, participated in monthly meetings, carried out charity work interacted with different farmers through field work etc. I gained a lot of skills like communication with the farmers, farmer approach, making of reports, minutes and other more that has left me expertise for my career. However, there was fluctuating weather like prolonged sunshine after small rain that hindered timely implementation of some activities.
