Abstract:
In respect to the department of Agriculture at Busitema University Arapai Campus, it is prerequisite to undertake industrial training for partial fulfilment award or Diploma in crop production and management. Industrial training is a module carried outside the classroom. It exposes students on practical skills which involves visiting agricultural offices and handling different enterprises like coffee production, apple production, banana production, potatoes, Agro-forestry and wheat production.
The objective of this study was to enhance theoretical skills and knowledge learnt in class with hands on practical skills and applied knowledge. It's normally scheduled for a period of two months.
Chapter two cover the description of attachment that are the activities I carried out during industrial training period. There are the activities that we carried out in Buyinyaya Agricultural Research and they’re as pruning in coffee plants, watering of coffee seedlings, pickling of coffee seedlings in coffee field, Defoliation in apple production and planting of wheat, harvesting of bananas and land marking oil field peas.
Chapter three entails the importance's of attachment that is skins gained during industrial training and Responsibilities and challenges faced during industrial training where I was able to gain skills of landmarking of difference crops like wheat and avocado seedlings and field peas.
