An industrial training report carried out at Agency for Community Empowerment, Nebbi district.

Abstract

This report contains information on farm and community practice that I undertook for a period of ten weeks between 28thFebruary. 2022 to 6thMay; 2022 at Agency for Community Empowerment Nebbi district with an aim of acquiring hands-on skills and experience in farming and community get exposed to various farm enterprises and cultural behaviors and norms of the community. The introduction contains the historical background of the Organization, activities carried. out by the organization and objectives of the training however the process was participatory with a lot of experience and sharing between farmers and interns.

This section entails the description of the activities conducted during the training like nursery bed establishment, training farmers on good agronomic practices, training on soil and water conservation, enterprise selection etc., which imparted me with different skills and experience However these are the skills gained during the IT communication skiffs, office work, time management, postharvest management of horticultural crops. The also had influence on nay at future career plans.

During the IT, I encountered some challenges whi.ch include shortage tools during the trainings e.g., flit charts, marker pen etc., poor roads during. training and monitoring, unpredicted weather challenge, poor time management by some. farmers during the training, long distance of some places. However, recommendations made include the following project officers should sensitize the farmers on the benefits of punctuality, different groups should come up with rules that govern absenteeism. Conclusively, during the IT I gained a lot of experience and hands on skills which correlate with my class room knowledge.
