A report on industrial training carried out in Jeka farm (Kamuli) from 21st May to 27th July.

Abstract

The industrial training was done at JEKA poultry farm from the period of 21st May up to 27th of July 2018, The farm mostly deals in production of poultry and products. like; eggs, poultry feeds, litter and also one day old chicks, the farm also has set aside horticultural productions. During the training, I learnt a lot of skills and gained experience in poultry production like vaccination of birds, raising of one day old chicks, disease diagnosis for poultry, also mixing of feeds for poultry like layers’ mash, growers mash, and chicks mash. In crop section, raising of the nursery bed for tomatoes, pest and disease control using the pest sides. The learning process involved. students discussing with the supervisors’ instructors and also observing in order to gather information. In conclusion I made some of the observation that I think the farm manager should fix on them so as maximize the profit earnings of the farm, among include; considering fertilizing the land so as to increase on the yields of crop production However, there were a number of challenges that were experienced but all in all we managed to overcome them and get the necessary skill that is required of me.
