Abstract:
Industrial training is one of the University programmes whereby at the end of the first year each student is required to go out for the training. The training has to combine the knowledge obtained in class with the one obtained from the field. This training was done at the production and marketing department Lira District Local Government where the work covers the whole Lira District for two and half Month. The practice was supervised by different doctors of the District according to the department. The various activities carried out, on the day there was orientation induction training with the various staffs of the District, followed by meat inspection for three weeks; findings were that liver flukes is still a problem at the District, oesophagostomum in goats and worms. We were to identify the three farmers of different enterprise, that is to say, dairy and piggery, where we attended for two weeks each during advising them on good management practice.
