dc.description Industrial training report en_US
dc.description.abstract The ten weeks of industrial training which commenced on the 18th /May to 31st /July/ 201 has been of great significances to me, the details inscribed in this report gives a consolidation of various activities I was involved in during my industrial placement at Soroti Veterinary office Soroti District With the objective of the Industrial training being to expose students to farm enterprises and community practice in order to give them hands-on experience in farm and community practice relevant in this profession of livestock, I got involved in several activities and exposure ant to the objectives, these activities conducted include; daily meat inspection, vaccination of cattle, dogs, poultry against CBPP, FMD, for cattle and rabies for dogs then fowl typhoid, NCD for poultry, I also did treatment of animals against various ailments in addition to training farmers on common disease diagnosis and treatment. I also attended several meetings and trainings organized tor the Veterinary staff at the district and with other development partners. All the above activities coupled with social interactions built great skills. abilities and personal confidence. Although success was great, challenges were inevitable the major one Poor designs of some crushes making restrain of animals difficult, Lack of Transport facility for easy field movement, Lack of stunning at the abattoir was constantly putting our lives at risk, inadequate stationery for printing I.T logbook and other stationery requirements. No direct budget at the Vet office for interns to carry out their activities. However, if the University can Increase their liaison with industrial training organizations as well as providing enough stationery to students, there will be a little easement of the challenges. en_US
