Abstract:
This industrial training report contains the details of practical activities carried out -during the industrial training, skills gained, challenges; conclusions and recommendations at NaCRRl, this was carried out in six sections- i.e., Administration, Farm workshop, Horticulture and palm oil, Cereals, Legumes and Root crops: per section were conducted in one study week and other sections were assigned two weeks like legumes and root crops. These activities in a section were carried out under a specific program supervisor.
In administration section, orientation, induction and allocation were done throughout other research programs for a week. Farm workshop involved identification of tractor parts and farm implements and their operation. Legumes involved identification of varieties, Agronomy; entomology, pathology and breeding, horticulture involved nursery bed and field preparation, management and experimental designs. Cereal's breeding; field establishment, pest and disease identification. and management through carrying out the above activities I gained a lot of skills md knowledge for example in breeding, pathology, agronomy and pathology much as all were done successfully, I faced some little challenges which hindered the smooth running of the activities making me recommend addition of technical personnel in the final chapter of the report.
