Arapai farm is Busitema university government owned farm with various sections that are both crop and animal, and fishing fam are carried out, its aim is to produce higher quality products and higher trained students in. practical skills to enhance field and job creativity in community and put in place existing theory into practical skills obtained. Therefore, my main objectives were to attained knowledge in the following sections;
• Animal section, Cattle management
• Breeds and daily routine identification in pigs
• control measures
• feed formulation
• Banana production
• Green House production
• Land marking
• Pasture management
• Agronomic practices, poultry, and orchard management, small ruminants and seed bed preparation
The training however was done successful since most of its aims (objectives were attained during our internship Ewe: were divided into groups for easy mobilization each under one leader and we were move from one section to another from one week to another respectfully, our internship use to be conducted from morning at 7:30am until you finish the work depending on your commitment, however each section had its to guide the learners, our intern too has 10 weeks, therefore we observe we were missing a lot ill class since most practical skills were impacted during internship, we also observed that most farmers were lacking a lot especially in field marking and agronomic practices hence lowering their Productivity and we therefore recommend crop officers should be trained to help farmers achieve long and short-term objectives in production and minimize losses affecting their enterprises. |
