Industrial Training Report Carried out at Uwepo Limited Nyenga farm located at Kabizi Nyenga Division, Njeru Municipality- Buikwe Distrct.

Abstract

Industrial training is a course module that is conducted from either within or outside the university with the target of Implementing practical knowledge and skills which is driven from the theory by the students. I conducted my internship in UWEPO farm located in Kabizi, Nyenga division, Njeru municipality, Buikwe district which was done in the period of 8 weeks from 28 Feb-22nd April. The major aim of the internship is to apply the theoretical knowledge into practical skills in the field in order to serve the community and organizations implementing agriculture to solve problem they face concerning agriculture. While in the field, I carried out my industrial tr mg successfully therefore J managed to carry out various activities specifically on crop production. This report contains chapters 1-4 of which chapter I contains the If historical background, core values of the farm, vision, mission, organizational struct of the farm, Chapter 2 contains; the description of attachment ie orientation, mentoring, cooperation, presentation, nursery management for example nursery setting, pricking out, potting, seed dressing, grafting and budding, the nursery healing chamber, pests and diseases, soil science for example compost making and ways of improving soil fertility, urban farming which included types of urban farming, Olericulture, research and bread fruit. Chapter 3 contains the impact of the attachment i.e., skills gained for example field management practices, nursery management and making compost. Responsibilities undertaken during my attachment are; acted as a group leader in some activities and total participation in activities. Influence of the attachment, correlation of the attachment with classroom knowledge. Challenges faced during my attachment for example long working hours, remoteness of the area where the farm is located. Chapter 4 contains conclusions and recommendations.
