Industrial training report carried out at Mukono Zonal Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MUZARD1).

Abstract

This internship was held in MUZARDI in Mukono district for: 10 weeks. The main objectives were to acquire practical skills in the field to boast the theoretical knowledge gained from class to know how to propagate apples, to get exposed to different organizations such as research centers and animal farms, at know nursery managements is done.

The activities carried out were budding, grafting, data collection on tomatoes, nursery management, pricking out, defoliation in apples, potting, administering antibiotics to birds, feeding, cleaning of farm structures, data collection on pineapple, harvesting fish and sexing fish.

The intern program was relevant and applicable as I was able to apply the knowledge from class to the practical work in the field, the supervisors were good and were open to give us all the skills we needed. Though as an organization it has challenges but it prospering.

The major Challenge was. some sections didn't have water nearby, conservativeness casual workers who were always preserved with their information was another challenge I faced.

In conclusion, the industrial training was successful and my objectives were also achieved for I was able to relate the theory I get in lectures into practice.
