dc.description Industrial training report en_US
dc.description.abstract The industrial training is a module carried out by the students of Arapai Campus Busitema University and it is conducted at the end of Second semesters in the first year. The Industrial Training was done in Kibuku District Local Government. The District is mainly engaged in mixed farming, the Community relies on livestock for drought power social status and acts as a way of saving. However, in my Industrial Training, I participated in different field activities in the entire livestock sector in Kibuku District Local Government which include the following: - In cattle, I carried out endo-parasite control like deworming, health inspection, slaughterhouse and meat inspection, treating, deworming, food and mouth vaccination, heat synchronization, and artificial insemination. In caprines, I carried out endo and external parasite control like deworming, health inspection, treatment, castration and teaching farmers about bio security. In Poultry, I carried out monitoring of birds, vaccination, deworming. In Pasture, I carried out pasture improvement, harvesting and cutting. The Industrial Training was instrumental as I got equipped with practical ideas upon livestock and diary management. In Kibuku District Local Government I conferment some obstacles like in Bovine they most disturbed by T. brucei, T. Congolense and T. Vivax (trypanosomes) transmitted principally by glossina SSP (tsetse fly), liver flukes, east coast fever which affects the health of animals, poor roads leading to some parishes, under my recommendation, however I would recommend the management of Kibuku to construct a dip tank for proper control of ticks , and upgrade of roads in order to solve the above problems. I encourage farmer to carry out regular spraying to control. en_US
