An industrial attachment report carried out in caritas Kotido district, Karamoja- region.

Abstract

This field attachment work was carried out in FAL&IGA department of Caritas Kotido Field office from: June- August 2018 as partial fulfilment for the award of the Diploma in General Agriculture of Busitema University. The intern participated in an overall programme planning and execution continuum involving in among other activities; establishment of office demonstration gardens, home visitation, various aspects of field demonstrations and trainings, joint project monitoring, environmental conservations activities, data entry and report writing.

The field attachment enhanced the learner's skills and competencies in field in the various are more so in monitoring, supervision and community communication, computer skills, socio economic areas planning and problem solving. The key challenges faced were related to poor roads as the internship period was ridden by heavy rains that could in some occasions even prohibit movement for days.

It is concluded among others that the field attachment should continue to be part and parcel of the university programme.

It is recommended that the government should work on the bad roads to facilitate the. movement even during harsh weather conditions.
