Abstract:
This report describes the all the activities carried out during. the internship including skills and qualifications gained, challenges faced during industrial training, conclusions and recommendations derived from the challenges faced at Light Force International. It is noticed that LFI Lira is a Christian base organization founded by Preacher of word (missionary) Sir George Ronald Ridnil which was founded in 2003 under Light agency in UK. LFI has worked in Lira, northern Uganda since January 2004 initially working in the displaced people’s camps at the height of the rebel insurgency which devastated people's lives. During internship, I was attached and endowed to various sections such as Poultry, Cattle and goats, piggery and horticulture. While at the various units, I gained Skills and knowledge such as hand milking and disease diagnosis in cattle, preparation of a nursery bed and management of seedlings in horticulture; how to operate various machines such as a milling machine and a threshing machine as well as general management of livestock. Responsibilities undertaken during my internship includes; encouraging group members to ensure that all task are done according to the standards and interest of the farm, as well as managing time when reporting at the farm. During the process I faced challenges such as language barrier, difficult in operating some machines in the farm. In conclusion all the activities were implemented and industrial training was successfully carried out and finally, the government should improve the infrastructures such as roads to ease movement of products to the market, rural electrification for adequate power supply in the farm to ease operation of the machines in the farm and I appreciate the farm for all the services rendered to me.
