dc.description Industrial training report en_US
dc.description.abstract IT is the program which aims at providing students with supervised practical training in relation to the theory for a specific period of time. I carried out the industrial training from Lira District Local Government at the department of production and marketing which operates under the agricultural sector. This department handles crops, entomology, fisheries, commercial, NAADS and livestock. Under all the six sectors operating within the department, I was able to engage in certain activities that take place in them and it enabled me gain skills of carrying them out on my own in the near future. These activities included the following; making hay for the cattle which was carried out under the livestock Sector, processing and packaging of honey activities under entomology, cleaning the fish pond and providing the fish with. feeds under fisheries, distribution of planting materials for example improved maize seeds and cashew nut seedlings under NAADS, planting of Tice together with a group of farmers under crop and many other activities within the six sectors of operation in the production department. Through participating in ail these activities I was able to gain various skills within the agribusiness sector which include management of crops animal operation of the different tools and equipment used on a farm interviewing skills and the importance of cooperation among the extension agents and even the farmers. The whole period of the industrial training was so educative, interactive, enjoyable but at the same time also tiresome in some fields. However, I would like to call upon the administration at campus to ensure sufficient and timely communication to the students about the scheduled supervisors from school to avoid any inconveniences and delays as this was the case with us at the production department in Lira where some of the students were not aware of the arrival of the supervisor. en_US
