A report on industrial training carried out at National Livestock Resource Research Institute (NaLiRR1) – Serere.

Abstract

This report summarizes all the activities that I carried out during my internship at NaLiRRl, starting. from 21st to 27 July 2018 under the instruction and guidance of the research field technicians where I was engaged in different research programs at the institute that included pasture production and management, poultry production, goat rearing and cattle section. The activities done include; pasture identification and management, identification of poultry, breeds, vaccination of birds, routine management practices, treatment of birds, weighing of goats and cattle, spraying, deworming, age determination, health inspection, surgery, branding, record keeping, disease diagnosis, identification of farm structures and animal census, During my training, I have also been exposed to effective communication which expanded my relationship between partners of the institute, people around, team work and good relations with the other interns. Hopefully with the training that I gained out, I can be able to contribute towards the national development in future and also get a job that suits my experience. In conclusion, the training was to expose students towards -the working environment as well as seen the connection between theoretical aspect with practical work.
