Abstract:
This report contains and describes the activities implemented, skills gained, challenges faced during the industrial training, and recommendations derived from the challenges faced at Nebbi sub county, Nebbi District Local Government. The objective of this industrial training is to make students benefit from the skills and knowledge gained from the fields, apply the knowledge they got from the classroom into the field and build confidence in the students. There was orientation of all interns attached to the production department where later activities such as; castration of goats, Training of farmers on animal traction Training of farmers on animal management, animal treatment, vaccination of dogs and cats in all the parishes, training of farmers on efficient and sustainable water usage for agriculture and home use, distribution of mango seedlings to module farmers, provision of refresher courses to module farmers, analysis of extent of cassava mosaic disease within the sub-county. The skills gained include; deworming of goats and cattle, Castration, skills in general management of animals, communication skills and confidence in training farmers on animal and crop management. During the internship, challenges faced included; poor mobilization of the farmer, lack veterinary drugs and equipment at the Sub County, limited transport means for field work in the production department and poor turn up of the farmers to the training, sudden weather changes such heavy rains hot temperatures created an un conducive work environment as sickness. Therefore, I recommend that that more motorcycles be provided to sub-county to ease movement to the farmer meeting locations, mobilization should be intensified, more equipment such drugs and soil test kits be provided. In conclusion all the activities were implemented and industrial training was carried out successfully.
